Forging of 1. Steel

Annealing
For maximum softness, heat slowly and uniformly to 760 800°C, then cool slowly in the furnace.
Relieve Stress
Stress relieved to minimize the risk of deformation or cracking during subsequent heat treatment.
After rough machining, the steel is slowly heated to 650°C, soaked for at least two hours per 25mm section, slowly cooled to 500°C, then cooled in air
Or quenched in oil or water.
Hardening
Preheat first, then heat to 600-850°C until heated through, then harden from 980-°C and allow to heat completely. Use a neutral salt bath, controlled atmosphere furnace, or vacuum to protect components from decarburization. Soak at a certain temperature. Air cool or quench in warm oil.
Tempering
In order to achieve the best alignment of hardness, toughness and corrosion resistance, tempering at 250°C-570°C is recommended.

Description
4CR13 Mold Steel material by electroslag melting smelting with good cast optical activity (mirror processing) good wear resistance and toughness at high temperature with good plasticity because of its high chromium content (13.6%) so its corrosion resistance is excellent, pre-add hard corrosion-resistant mirror mold steel S136 is a mirror rust-proof mold steel.
S136 mold steel with excellent corrosion resistance has been widely applied in the mold industry. However, in order to meet the increasing demands of injection products with complex structure and high quality, selective laser melting (SLM) as a novel manufacturing method is chosen due to its rapid fabricating parts with complex geometric shapes. Further, it is essential to enhance their hardness and wear property to prolong the service life of the injection mold.

1. Annealing
In a protected state, heat up to 780 and then cool to 650 in the furnace at 10 per hour and then cool in the air.
2. Stress elimination
After roughing, must be heated to 650 , both hot 2 hours, slowly cooling to 500 , and then cooling in the air.
3. Hardened
Preheating Temperature: 600-850
Quenching temperature: 980-
