While this isn't a fun topic, many of us who are in spaces previously occupied are dealing with lingering scents. I detected a mothball scent, and while it isn't at a level 10 of intensity, I want no association with the 'mothball smell'. We bought this item and it seems to work very well. This was beyond worthwhile for us; nothing else worked: orange "severe odor" spray, mopping many times, wiping down walls with disinfectant, painting (!), airing out on tornado-like days of wind...nothing helped. Ah, and charcoal! But, I would say charcoal was slightly helpful, just ugly.
